One of Life’s Great Tweaks That Can Make an Already Good Thing Even Better

Who doesn’t know the jingle, “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream?”

Sometimes all it takes is just one little tweak to improve on something that’s already pretty wonderful. Recipes, for instance.

Here’s a twist: Balsamic ice cream. Here we have a much loved, time-honored food with a flavor combination no one would ever suspect would taste so great. Source: www.theadvocate.com from the Advocate in Baton Rouge, which reprinted the recipe from the book, Vinegar Revival by Harry Rosenblum.

That’s the same thing with engineered hardwood flooring. It is real wood, but the construction is an adjustment on something that’s already pretty great: Solid Hardwood.

There’s no doubt that hardwood floors can be the star of your home. Hardwood does, however, tend to shrink and contract in an effort to balance itself according to weather conditions. Heat and humidity, especially, can affect it.

Enter engineered hardwood flooring, and specifically, engineered hardwood flooring in Baton Rouge at Wholesale Flooring & Granite.

Engineered hardwood flooring does everything solid does and, actually a little more. It’s beautiful, adding a richness and luxuriousness to your home. You have a large assortment of colors and species from which to choose. It increases the market resale value of your home, which of course is great for resale.

It adds a little extra by being weather-proof and moisture-resistant. The construction is what makes it so stable. Unlike solid hardwood, which is basically a sheet, engineered hardwood consists of a core; the core is usually made of oak or walnut, which are very tough woods. Then there are a couple of layers of plywood, and it’s all topped off with a hardwood veneer.

As a result, engineered hardwood flooring is ultra-durable, weather-proof and moisture-resistant. This also means it can be installed in basements. That’s something solid hardwood can’t say, because it’s recommended for installation no lower than the first floor.

Oh! And here’s another “extra.” You’d pay less for engineered hardwood flooring than you would for solid.
