When you decide to upgrade your kitchen or bathroom with quartzite countertops, you're choosing one of the most stunning and durable natural stones out there. But what happens after you sign off on your slab? At Wholesale Flooring & Granite, we get this question all the time. So, let’s walk through the full installation process, from your first visit to the final polish. It’s not just about beauty. It’s about precision, timing, and expert craftsmanship.
Start with a consultation and measurement
Everything begins with a consultation. You'll meet with one of our design pros who can walk you through quartzite color options, edge profiles, finishes, and more. Once you're leaning toward a look, we’ll schedule a home visit to take detailed measurements.
We don’t just measure the countertop space. We look at the cabinet structure, the placement of appliances, the location of plumbing fixtures, and anything else that could affect installation. If you’re replacing existing bathroom or kitchen countertops, we’ll take into account how your current setup was built and what adjustments may be needed.
Choose your slab and layout the template
Quartzite slabs are unique. No two are alike. After your measurements are finalized, we invite you to view the slabs in person. This is your chance to handpick the exact piece you want installed in your home. If you've already seen one you like, we’ll reserve it.
Next, we create a physical or digital template of your countertop layout. This includes cuts for the sink, faucet holes, stove, and any specialty features like overhangs or backsplashes. We lay this template over your chosen slab to decide where each part will come from—this ensures the best flow of veining and color movement.
Fabrication happens off-site
Once we’ve confirmed everything with you, the slab goes to our fabrication shop. Here’s where the precision tools come in. We cut the quartzite to match the template, polish the edges, and prep everything to fit your space perfectly.
Fabrication can take several days, depending on complexity. We’ll keep you updated so you’re never left wondering. This part is all about skill and accuracy. Our team checks each cut and finish detail carefully before we schedule installation.
Prepare your space for installation day
Quartzite is heavy. The installation process is no small job. We’ll coordinate with you to clear the countertop area ahead of time. This includes removing small appliances, decor, or anything breakable. If your sink is being replaced, we’ll ask you to have the new one on site for proper fitting.
Most quartzite installs happen in a single day, though larger kitchens or more complex layouts may take longer. Our crew will arrive with the prepared pieces, carefully bring them inside, and begin the fitting process.
Quartz countertop installation and final touches
Once the slabs are placed, we secure them with adhesive and make sure everything is level and flush. We’ll join any seams, polish the edges again on-site, and clean up dust and debris.
If you have a new sink, we’ll dry-fit it and verify all cuts are correct. We do not handle plumbing or appliance hookups directly, but we can coordinate with your plumber to get everything reconnected after installation.
Finally, we seal the quartzite. Even though it's harder than granite, sealing helps protect it from stains and moisture. We’ll walk you through basic maintenance and cleaning tips before we leave.
